This is an up to date on my latest where about, movements and plans for future races.

I am sorry this is a little overdue but with constant travels and limited down time I have been very busy.

Last week I returned from the Gold Coast after spending 3weeks training and racing. Whilst there I competed in the Mooloolaba ITU Oceania Cup Race.

The Trustees have approved the first round of 2012 grants to 57 Greytown residents undertaking study at a variety of educational institutions around New Zealand. This is an increase of 11 additional students helped compared with last April.

The total paid out is $38,000 and for first year grants students they receive $500 twice a year and for second and subsequent years $1,500 up to a maximum grant of $4,000.

Perseverance has finally paid off for the Trust after many years of working on changing the zoning at Bidwills Cutting from rural to light industrial.

Following the December 2011 zone change hearing a written decision from the combined Wairarapa Council’s has recommended a land use change which becomes operative immediately, although subject to an appeal period. This commonsense Council decision should be  seen as a positive for Greytown especially in these uncertain economic times.
